John L. Haller

John L. Haller is a San Diego patent attorney at Gordon & Rees and co-leader of the firm’s Patent practice group. With more than 38 years of experience, Mr. Haller’s intellectual property practice focuses on patent prosecution, patent counseling, and patent litigation. Mr. Haller has practiced all aspects of patent law. He has been a registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1975. He has extensive experience in patent litigation, patent prosecution, and patent counseling.

With a Masters Degree in Physics, Mr. Haller has an acute appreciation for technical matters and is uniquely positioned to understand and apply this understanding to the patent litigation process. Mr. Haller has practiced patent litigation throughout the United States.  Mr. Haller was recently selected to serve a three-year term as a Lawyer Representative for the Ninth District Court of Appeals. His duties include participation in the annual Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and the annual District Conference of the Southern District. Mr. Haller also participated as a member of the committee to revise the local patent rules for the Southern District of California.
