What You Should Know About Patents

This webinar will discuss patent prosecution, licensing and litigation.
We will review the Constitution’s enabling language, relevant federal statutes and regulations including Title 35 of the United States Code, 37 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), the MPEP (Manual of Patent Examining Procedure), and recent changes in the patent laws.
In addition to the various types of national patents, international patent considerations will be addressed.
Patent licensing and assignments considerations including employment and independent contractor relationships will be introduced.
We will also discuss the various considerations which are undertaken when patent litigation is being considered including validity and infringement opinions, related causes of action, party selection, jurisdiction, pleadings, preliminary discovery, discovery, claim construction, invalidity, infringement and damages along with dispositive motions and settlement opportunities examined.
